FS2004-FSX Me 209 V4
====================
History
=======
The Bf 109H was an attempt to design a high-altitude fighter to fill a gap in the Luftwaffe inventory left by the failure of the earlier Me 155 and Me 209 projects. The 109H was based on the same fuselage as the Bf 109F. It was to be equipped with a high-altitude pressurized cockpit. The standard 109 wings were lengthened from 9.92m to 13.25m and wing area from l6.05m² to 2l.90m² by the addition of a centre-section and new tips. This aircraft was expected to have a ceiling of between l3.000 and l5.000m. The intention was to build a first batch of 200 aircraft and thereafter reach a production rate of 20 to 30 machines per month. The Bf l09 H was intended primarily as an interceptor against enemy high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft: a plan to use it as a high—altitude fighter—bomber was abandoned on static grounds. To save weight,the rear armour was removed, only the armoured windscreen being retained. Fuselage construction was similar to that of the Bf l09 G-6. but with a pressurized cockpit. The main landing gear was also modified and after a few flights,its track widened. The tail-wheel assembly was lengthened by 0.30 in and was non—retractable.
The first prototype (Bf 109 V.54) flew on 5 November 1943. Initial tests were satisfactory. A second prototype, the Bf 109 V.55, was destroyed in an air raid on 25 February 1944. Further tests on the V.54 produced less impressive results, but work continued on the project. A small number of the pre-production H-0 and H-1s were produced, and were tested by a reconnaissance unit based at Guyancourt, near Paris, but performance was not satisfactory.
By mid-July quantity production was almost ready to begin, but on 18 July 1944 the project was cancelled by the Air Ministry. Other projects, including the Focke-Wulf Ta 152 and the Messerschmitt Me 262 looked likely to produce better aircraft.

Installation:
==============
-Unzip " Bf109H" into a temporary file and move the "Bf109H" folder into the main Aircraft directory.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-Read instructions carefully when installing the bf109e.gau , say YES...when asked if the gauges sources should be trusted. If you say no....most of the gauges are not going to work !
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-Leave the Mess.cab in the Bf109H\panel folder.
-Put the bf109e.gau and WEP.gau into your Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\gauges folder. If it is there already, just let it overwrite, it is the same file.
-Copy the effects into the Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\effects folder.
-Add the 20can.wav in your Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\sound folder.
ATTENTION :
-For FS2004, change the FS9_Wing_Guns.fx into FX_Wing_Guns.fx
-For FSX change the FSX_Wing_Guns.fx into FX_Wing_Guns.fx
If having trouble with the cockpit transparencies in FSX acceleration, copy the glass.bmp and prop. bmp files from the Acceleration.texture into the Spit14CL texture folder.

Effects
--------
-On startup there is automatic engine smoke.
-Then follow the exhaust flames with smoke.
-Wing vortex effect appears by default at 2.5g or quick roll rate.
-Continuous blue flames with smoke if engine is running .
-Shift+E opens canopy.
-Wingslats close automatically above 100 mph and pop open again when pulling high G or slowing down.
-'O' Trigers cannon. Wing cannon with flash, smoke and falling cartridges can be triggered with the standard Strobe key (O).
It is much nicer however if you put the FS2004/FSX standard Strobe key (O) to the trigger from your joystick.You can change this in the Key menu.
It is a good idea if you replace the standard (L) key for lights by the L+CTRL, (normaly activating the landing lights only). This avoids you having to have all lights on when pulling the trigger for the first time.

Flying the model
================
This plane has a lot of torque, go slowly on the throttle first. Keep rudder-brakes right for takeoff.
ATTENTION: When reaching about 370 knots (700 km/h) the plane becomes increasingly nose heavy. You need up-trim to avoid diving into the ground.
