Hello,

You might know, that a real Boeing Business Jet differs a lot from a Boeing 737-700 even
if that´s the aircraft building the "base" for the BBJ.
This file contains instructions how to modifiy the default PMDG737-700-Winglet aircraft.cfg
file to get a little nearer to the experience of flying a BBJ. Modifications will be
a much larger main fuel tank and stronger engines. The figures used correspond the data
of a real BBJ and are not fictional.

The following modifications should not harm your computer in any way. If so, the author
was never intending that and shall not be made responsibel for any damage happening to
your PC. If you have any doubts, do make a backup of all original files concerned.

You should at least know a little bit about modifying aircraft.cfg files. In any case,
make a backup of the original aircraft.cfg file prior editing! NOTE! The following
modifications will effect the behaviour of all PMDG737-700-Winglet aircraft you have
installed, unless you create a new folder for the BBJ in your FS9/Aircraft directory.

1. First we will replace the standard engines of the B737-700 by some stronger ones:
Find the [TurbineEngineData] part in your aircraft.cfg file. You have to change the
static_thrust=... Following engines are available:

CFM56-7B24 with 107.6kN static_thrust=24200 default B737-700
CFM56-7B26 with 117.0kN static_thrust=26300 for BBJ
CFM56-7B27 with 121.4kN static_thrust_27300 in real life used for
the 737-900 versions and the BBJ2
The line in the middle will do nicely for a BBJ and is the most realistic, as such
engines are used for B737-800 and BBJ in real life. If you choose the last line, be
aware that your BBJ will be little overpowered.

2. Now build a much larger fuel tank in the cargo compartement. Find the [fuel] section in
your aircraft.cfg file and change it as follows:

Center1= -44.870, 0.000, -2.800, 8119.000, 0.000

That will give you a maximum fuel capacity of 40.484 litres (10.695 US gal.,
8.905 Imp gal.) instead of the standard 26.025 litres (6.875 US gal., 5.725 Imp gal.)
of the B737-700. This features exactly the real life BBJ which can be fitted with up to
nine additional belly tanks. It will allow you a flight of up to 6.200 NM range.
As these additional fuel is stored in the cargo compartement, watch out that you´re not
taking to much luggage. Otherwise the BBJ will be easily overloaded.

3. Then we change the operating empty weight: Find the [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] section in
your aircraft.cfg and change it as follows:

empty_weight=94570

Due to the additional belly tanks, the stronger and heavier engines, strengthend
fuselage in the aft section, and landing gear as well as centre-section from the
B737-800, the BBJ is a little heavier than the default B737-700 (83.000 lb).

4. And last we change the MTOW which you find as well in the [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] section.
Modify as follows:

max_gross_weight=171000

The reasons for the increased MTOW are mainly the same than those effecting the empty
weight and are mentioned above.

That´s it! Try your new BBJ and enjoy flying. And don´t be intimidated by the power when
operating at few weight. That´s what the BBJ is like...
