Pretty airplanes are nice - but in my profession I spend 10 hours behind the cockpit for every hour I spend on walkarounds. Because of that, I cannot deal with hand-drawn or non-realistic panels. This panel will put you right in the cockpit. You have an ultra-realistic panel, Center Console and Radio stack. Also take a look at the overhead. P.S. Don't play with the FUEL CONTROLS unless you are at least 30,000'. Enough said.
PLEASE READ THIS TEXT CAREFULLY !!! (Especially New Fligntsimmers) Last year this first version of this file was dowloaded over 30K times globally and you cannot imagine the number of EMAILS I recieved for the following months from all around the world. (For some of them, I had to employ translators to help me respond.) Being a commercial 738 Captain I cannot respond immediately as you can imagine - but I will always respond within 2-3 days.
FIRST OF ALL - I hope you are somewhat accustomed to flying commercial jets. The instrumentation is complex, and this panel is very, very realistic visually and in the instruments it utilizes.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. UNZIP THE FILE INTO ANY FILE/DIRECTORY
2. UNZIP THE [PANEL] FILE AND NAME IT ANY PANEL OF YOUR CHOOSING. (I.E. PANEL.738NG) YOU CAN EITHER REPLACE THIS FILE WITH ANY [PANEL] FOLDER OF A 738, OR SIMPLY PLACE IT IN YOUR FS9/AIRCRAFT FOLDER. THEN GO TO ANY 738 AICRAFT/PANEL FOLDER AND REPLACE THE CONFIG TEXT WITH;
[FLTSIM]
ALIAS=PANEL.738NG
(I pray to the Good Lord you already know how to do this. I really don't enjoy teaching this procedure by Email.)
3. UNZIP THE [GAUGES] ZIP AND COPY AND PASTE THE ENTIRE CONTENTS (INCLUDING THE 1 FOLDER AND 3 ZIPS DIRECTLY INTO YOUR FS9/GAUGES FOLDER.
4. UNZIP THE [MODULES] FILE AND PLACE THEM INTO YOUR FS9/MODULES FOLDER. (I HAVE NOT INCLUDED FSUIPC.DLL. THAT IS A COPYRIGHTED FILE. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE FREE VERSION ANYWHERE.)
IMPORTANT!!!!!
5. BE SURE YOU HAVE A CURRENT FSUIPC.DLL INSTALLED IN YOUR MODULES.
6. UPDATE YOUR FS9.CFG FILE / IN YOUR MY DOCUMENTS/APPLICATIONS FOLDER. IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE IT ALREADY, COPY AND PASTE THE FOLLOWING SOMEWHERE IN THAT FILE;
7. PLEASE DON'T TRY TO RUN THIS FROM A LAPTOP OR AN OLD COMPUTER. IT REQUIRES GOOD SPEED, GOOD MEMORY AND A GOOD VIDEO CARD. USE AT THE LEAST 1024X768 RESOLUTION.
P.S. IF YOUR AIRPLANE DOES NOT HAVE VIRTUAL COCPIT IN THE MODEL, YOU WILL ENJOY THE SIDE AND REAR VIEWS OF THE PANEL AS WELL.
THIS PANEL IS STRICTLY FREEWARE AND SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR PROFIT. MANY ARTISTS AND PROGRAMMERS HAVE SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS DESIGNING THE INSTRUMENTS AND GAUGES.
