This is not a new package, but an update really. Most of the FS engine remains the same as in FS2002. There are still many bugs in the software. I do REALLY like the new Robinson R22 helicopter, which does fly very much like the real thing.

I think that the game would be more realistic, if they would have made, moving traffic on highways and roads, specifically around major airports. Perhaps even passengers for your flight. Maybe even the option of having a co-pilot. But in either case, the game has come along way from the 98 version.

None.... With an FS2002 and some free addons we can have the same features... and for the IVAO online flights for example, there is no change between FS2004 and FS 2002...

So, for the moment i prefere to stay on FS 2002 and wait for the patch ( ;) ) and the "real" new features on FS2004...

Have a good flight !

I think itīs just great. Perfect weather and the clouds are just amazing. Flights at night are a lot better than before and if you fly in bad weather you really fly in bad weather. Try the Cessna Caravan in a thunderstom with heavy rain at night. Thatīs what I call thrill of flying. I really hope to see some new aircrafts soon!!
Enjoy your flight !!

Something I'd like to see in the next realease is an improved Flight Planner. Say a Flight from Washington DC to Sydney, Australia. However, you must schedule a stop in Los Angeles to refuel.

Or say a flight from New York to Paris, France. But you want to take the scenic route and fly over some of London's attractions.

I am a great fan of the FS series of flight simulators and 2004 continues to set new standards. I too would like to see an improved scenery engine but just wonder if there is hardware capable of handling what we would like to see. I think 2004 is a fine balance between what we would like to have and what is practical.

The weather is a great improvment, and the ATC, but the graphics and generally, the whole game, is so similar to FS2002 that it almost seems as though it is a major patch. I am amazed that with all the satelite technology available Microsoft are still unable to create accurate towns and cities for the world or Africa for that matter , so sad ? i now have to wait for a designer to post an Add-On scenery for South African cities and towns ?

FS2004 had to be uninstalled from my system. Why? Just not happy with the conflicts that occur when using aircrafts from FS2002. Worked long and hard to crate a nice library of several aircrafts that some conflict with FS2004. Have followed all the listed procedures on correcting problems, but until MS straightens these bugs out, FS2004 will remain in its box, with FS2002 Pro being the lead dog. Graphics in FS2004 are nice, but now all that spectactular. GPS is nice change too, but just not blown away by it yet.

Aircraft
I'm not particularly impressed with 2004, compared with 2002. All the features in the survey are nice, but my favorite aircraft is the 182 RG. It's available, but only as an add-on.

Autopilot
I'd also like an easier to operate autopilot (as per 2002) where I can set the autopilot to maintain altitude, but still be able to change heading.

Flight plan
I still haven't figured out how to print the flight plan. The print icon sure doesn't work.

In brief
It's OK, but not worth upgrading if you've already got 2002 - unless you want to fly the Wright Flyer

Once again I would like to say Fs2004 is great, but what I would love to see in the next version, is ATC with a variety of accents for the country in which you are at. For example, its not every day I get greeted by an American control tower at Heathrow London and im pretty sure in Japan they dont have American accents! To me this is actually quite a vital part of realism which has been over looked by microsoft.

Well this is my first upgrade since FS98, and whoa! big diff. I've learned quite a bit from this program such as IFR and VFR flights.. I would like to see the graphics kicked up a notch as in all the major internatinoal airports should have up-todate satalite photos and surrounding buildings. Plus the terrain should be a litle more detailed as you near hte ground, such a slight hills are noiceable when withen say 300ft of them. So many improvments but so little space, thats the problem. Ya gotta remember that not everyone has 3+ ghz cpu and 9800pro. so you gota keep somthings simple so everyone can enjoy the game.... Ok, I'll be quiet now, lol

Well to start out i'd like to give credit to the new 2004fs. This game is wonderful. Everything fits well and also runs well. Things that i would improve on are more detailed surrounding areas near major landmarks, and all airports. Having the opiton for some passengers would be nice. Maybe even make a storeline singleplayer where you advance to let say being the president's pilot? Sure it would be cool if you could also have personal hangers for commen repairs, uprgades, cleaning....and so forth. All these would be great along with everything that they are already doing. I'm sure that I and many people will be more than happy with 2006fs. Now back to flying!!!!
