Flight Sim FSX Military aircraft: Updated version of the Etendard IV, the Super Etendard is a carrier-based single-seat strike fighter which flew for the first time in October 1974 and was introduced into service in June 1978. In France, about 50 planes out of the 71 serving in the 11F, 14F and 17F squadrons of the French Navy were modernized with updated avionics and a new Anémone radar. The first of them flew in October 1990. Nowadays, the Super Etendard is the main attack force aboard the French carrier Charles de Gaulle. A second modernization program of 54 Super Etendard began in 1992 and will allow them to serve in the 11F and 17F squadrons until they are replaced by Rafale M in 2008. This makes it very unstable in tight turns, so be carefull. It has an helmet visor HUD that can be put aside if it obstructs the outside view. This can be done by grabbing the hud with the mouse and drag sidways. To see it again just drag the button (periscope) thats in the lights panel (left panel). Its wings are based in a turtle legs. By Patrice Grange, April 2009. The Loire-Nieuport LN-411 was a French dive bomber operated by the Aeronautique Navale (= the French Navy) in 1940. This airplane, known as the French Stuka, had a significant - but unknown ! - role in a couple of battles against the German invasion in 1940. The model has full moving parts and animations (control surfaces, gear, flaps, opening canopy, steering wheel, cockpit animations, ...), an original custom 2D panel and a full animated VC.
