Flight Sim FS2004 Vintage Aircraft: FS2004 Sikorsky VS-44 Avalon Air Transport Sikorskys last fixed-wing airplane, operated by Avalon Air Transport (later Catalina Airlines) 1957-67 on taxi runs between Long Beach, CA and Catalina Island. Made over 8,000 trips in 10 years, sometimes 12 in a day. Passenger capacity increased from 32 to 47 by removing galley and sleeper berths, and decreasing fuel load. Flight deck greatly modified in order to reduce crew required from 5 to 2. FSDS2 model with virtual cockpit, passenger compartment. Improved flight dynamics. Some instruments and interior details based on photos taken at New England Air Museum. Custom XML gauges plus defaults from DC-3. Animated cowl flaps and hatches. A flying boat, not an amphibian. Flight Sim FS2004 Vintage Aircraft: FS2004 Amelia Earharts L10E Electra This aircraft is a customization, upgrade and optimization of Arik Hohmeyers fine L10E from FS-Design Berlin. The intent was to match it as closely as possible to Earharts L10E Lockheed Electra. Dave Bitzers research at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. and independent work by Alex Nicolson resulted in over two-dozen flight-dynamics changes, including proper-capacity long range tanks. Norman Hancock designed two custom panels for this historic aircraft; a classic version with a Sperry AP and a modern one with a digital AP and more navigation equipment. The Cambridge Engine Analyzer, Sextant, Drift Meter, and pop-up E6-B computer are standard on both panels. Easy one-step install. By Dave Bitzer, Norman Hancock, and Charles Wood.

This was the DC-4E originally designated the DC-4. The DC-4 was also known by its military designation, C-54 Skymaster.
