AAB owned by Charles Blair, who piloted VS-44 during WWII. After his death in 1978 his wife, actress Maureen OHara, became President and CEO of the airline. Blue-white-red civilian paint scheme used by AAB. Also includes blue-white scheme used by Avalon Air Transport 1957-1967 in S. California shuttle service. Visual model upgraded to FSDS 3.5.1 from 2005 version. Higher-resolution gauges included. Flight dynamics modifications by Brian Horsey. A flying boat, not an amphibian. Beaching gear provided. Flight Sim FS2004 Propeller Aircraft: FS2004 Viking DHC6-400 Twin Otter. The worldwide demand for refurbished Twin Otters is such that Viking Air have commenced manufacture of new aircraft in their plant in Calgary, Canada, using original de Havilland jigs and tools. The new manufacture -400 model is externally identical to the -300 but has a Honeywell glass cockpit avionics suite. We could not source freeware Honeywell gauges so we have used Garmin avionics in this model. The launch customer is Zimex Aviation of Switzerland and first delivery is expected in September 2009.
