FS2000 US ARMY Sikorsky S-72 RSRA helicopter Certainly one of the more exotic-looking rotorcraft yet developed. the S-72 helicopter, used to test various integrated rotor and propulsion systems. After the first flight on 12 October 1976, the S-72 completed the first experimental phase in February 1977. The fuselage was entirely new compared with the other models by Sikorsky. It had traditional, airplane-type swept tail surfaces with a five-blade main rotor and five-blade tail rotor. Model features complete moving parts including AD2000 technics. The Chocktaw had a single four-bladed main rotor and a four-bladed metal tail rotor. The CH-34C was powered by a single Curtis-Wright R-1820-84C 1425 hp piston engine and had a speed of 123 mph (107 knots).

One Day like Today... 1942 US attack on Nazi Europe - July 4, 1942 - Flown by B-17s of the 97th Bombardment Group against the Rouen-Sotteville railyards in France. The first USAAF air raid on Germany was made by 8th AF B-17s against Wilhelmshaven and other targets in northeastern Germany on 1/27/43.
1930 Endurance record - June 11-July 4, 1930 - 553h:41m:30s at Chicago by John and Kenneth Hunter in Stinson SM-1B City of Chicago [NC5189], covering about 40,000 miles in so doing. Refueling plane was flown by their brothers, Albert and Walter. Their feat was short-lived as the title was regained by Jackson and OBrine the following month.
