   FS2004 Aircraft: Nick’s Space Shuttle Landing Challenge, FINAL RELEASE Featuring the Space Shuttle Discovery and celebrating NASAs return to space! This package contains the most up to date version of my Space Shuttle Landing Challenge (v1.2). I am providing it as a FINAL single installation package to eliminate the need for multiple update files. This package includes the Space Shuttle Discovery redesigned using actual NASA-Boeing mechanical/aeronautical engineering data, a panel, sounds and shuttle landing FX. The space shuttle in the sim (like the real shuttle) has the ability to water ditch and belly land in an emergency or if improperly landed on the suspension system. You can select the sensitivity of the main landing gear struts (less crashes) for those who are novice to flying critical tolerances. This package includes a CHALLENGE FLIGHT ADVENTURE PACKAGE and features a reference list of the flights along with approach/landing procedure tips to the kneeboard (F-10) for you to refer to while in flight. The adventure pack will provide a set of 11 challenge flights spanning the globe for the space shuttle re-entry simulation. A Bonus PACK of CrashBar effects including smoke, fire, explosions and other nasty reminders of landing mistakes is included as an optional installation. The original .mdl file is by Matthew Moxon and a modified for FS9 panel byTom Kellner. Model repaint, flight dynamics, air file, sound.cfg, adventure flights and shuttle landingcrash FX by Nick Needham. Includes NASAs description of the entire landing process which you can now experience in Flight Simulator!    FS2004 Aircraft: Nick’s Space Shuttle Landing Challenge Featuring the Space Shuttle Discovery and celebrating NASAs return to space! The space shuttle is returning from orbit and has just completed its transition through 100,000 feet. You are between 80-110 nautical miles from touchdown. Your speed is Mach 3.5 and decelerating quickly as you pass 83,000 feet. Ground control has reported the TAEM guidance auto-landing navigation system and its backup systems have crashed. A critical failure has occurred and there is no time to repair and reboot the ground system before the shuttle will reach the runway glide scope acquisition point. You will have to manually navigate, locate the airfield, pilot and land the space shuttle. Can you do it??    FS2004 Aircraft: Nick’s Space Shuttle Landing Challenge UPDATE to v1.1 This update addresses the following issues: 1. Landing gear not visible. 2. No landing gear drop handle in the panel. 3. Main gear sinks into runway when rotating to drop nose gear down. 4. Error message when shuttle is started for the first time. 5. Thanks to information from NASA (JPL), this update provides the needed structural integrity changes that will allow this simulation to ride out a bad landing and water ditch the shuttle (no crash bar) IF you land the shuttle using the correct nose flair method AND within the tolerances the structure of the shuttle can handle on impact. This allows the space shuttle in the sim (like the real shuttle) to water ditch and belly land on runway (in an emergency or if improperly landed on the suspension system). 6. Updated visual, touchdown, dust, dirt, gravel, friction sparks, smoke and a complete set of splash and water ditch effects included. Air file, aircraft.cfg and shuttle landing FX by Nick Needham. You can also run Courseplanner on the network, (Courseplanner on one machine and FS on another). Courseplanner will fly the aircraft for you and even pause the flight near the airport, or any point for that matter, (handy for those long overnight flights). Can runs independently to FS, (you do not even need to have FS running). You can create /load a flight plan, an adventure or just to follow your progress, you can use all the planes in your hangar. Your flight will include GPS, briefing and more. Import and Export Flight plans to Flight Simulator, (all versions). Extensive 70 pages document as well as an SDK in C++/VB, (for our module).
