 Boeing YB-17 (1937) This FSDSv2 project depicts one of the 13 YB-17s that were assigned to the 96th Bomber Squadron of the 2nd Bomber Group at Langley field in 1937 and later. It has the usual animations, transparent glass and true reflective surfaces. The 2D panel and sound are from Oscar Everitts FS98 Memphis Belle. It has a minimal VC with some working gauges. This aircraft represents KLMs PJ-AIW as it would have appeared circa 1942. This aircraft was in service with KLM until it was used to evacuate civilians from Jave to Australia in 1942.   CFS2/FS2002/FS2004 Fokker D VII WW1 bipe. Fokker DVII Model flown by Ltn Rudolph Stark, Jasta 35b. German pilots who flew combat in the D.VII marveled at the planes high rate of climb and excellent handling characteristics. The service ceiling was higher than most Allied fighter planes. This advantage allowed D.VII pilots to built up speed and energy during an attack run, giving them the luxury of being able to pick and choose their targets. Today is the venezuelan Aeropostal. The Super Connies were one of the most famous planes of all the comercial history, being ever faster than some fighters of her era.  FS2002/FS2004 Savoia Marchetti SM79 SPARVIERO. The SM79 was the most famous version of a line of tri-motor Italian bombers. It was christened Sparviero (Sparrow Hawk) but its crewmen called it Gobbo (Hunchback). This sturdy hump-backed aircraft dated back to 1934 and didnt look like much, but it provided valuable service in all Italian theaters, even in the most difficult conditions. Originally created as a bomber, it really came into its own as a torpedo-bomber. The image here is from the Spanish Civil War, hence the colours are not those of WWII. Production ceased in 1944 after about 1370 aircraft were built. It was used by the Italians after the war as a transport and target tug. by Kazunori Ito.
