After opening of the Asian-Highway A1, that should lead from Viatnam up to Turkey, the Mawlamyine-Airport VYMM will increase in meaning drastically. Mawlamyine (Moulmein), the fourth-biggest city and former capital of Burma (Myanmar) lies only barely 80 km to the west of the Thai border and in the stretch-section Myawaddy-Thaton, with his construction was begun in the spring 2005. The bridge over the Thanlwin-River was already handed over to the traffic on February 05, 2005. On the new Airport big airplanes, like the B-744 and the A-388, can start and land.  Bassingbourn, Station 121. This base, located in Cambridgeshire 3.5 miles north west of Royston, was transferred to the 8th U.S.A.A.F. Command in october 1942. The 91st B.G. stayed here until june 1945. The Ragged Irregulars commanded by Colonel Stanley Wray moved here from Kimbolton. This was the base of the B-17 Memphis Belle. The 91st B.G. flew 340 missions, losing 197 B-17s.

Work was done with the FSSC and many macros are the exact reduction of my old repaints of Uruguayan planes.I have utilised as base Jeppesen, many differentes photos, books and old publications; that was a hard work to find all the infomation.

One Day like Today... 1942 US attack on Nazi Europe - July 4, 1942 - Flown by B-17s of the 97th Bombardment Group against the Rouen-Sotteville railyards in France. The first USAAF air raid on Germany was made by 8th AF B-17s against Wilhelmshaven and other targets in northeastern Germany on 1/27/43.
1930 Endurance record - June 11-July 4, 1930 - 553h:41m:30s at Chicago by John and Kenneth Hunter in Stinson SM-1B City of Chicago [NC5189], covering about 40,000 miles in so doing. Refueling plane was flown by their brothers, Albert and Walter. Their feat was short-lived as the title was regained by Jackson and OBrine the following month.
