Boeing (Stearman) PT-17 Kaydet. The PT-17 has tandem seating for instuctor and student. When flown solo the aircraft must be flown from the rear cockpit. The 220hp Continental R-670 radial engine is carburetted and normally aspirated. The propeller pitch can be adjusted only between flights. There are no propeller controls. Aircraft trim cannot be adjusted in flight. The fuel is gravity fed, there is no fuel boost pump.Empty equipped weight is 1,976lbs including oil. Maximum authorised weight is 2,717lbs. Maximum fuel load is 43 US gallons (about 260lbs) all usable.
