The X-15 rendition is well done and a fun addition to FS. As for the sound comments, the real sound was a very deep contunious explosion roar with no high frequency components. I was never in the cockpit but spent a lot of time testing the engine. Max thrust is 55k lbs and min is 15k, that's why it tries to roll at idle. Fuel load was only good for 3.5 minutes. It did not take off from land and the lower fin was dropped for landing. Also it should get dark at high altitude but that's a FS problem. Thanks for providing this blast to my past.

This is a really great historical plane! You can go really high into the sky and accelerate really fast. This kind of planes are really needed at this website. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to making this plane!

Nice change of pace...great download, gauges work fine..got it up well above 100,000 and could get mach 4.8 around 90,000 ft or less. The handling was ok...keep in mind...you're flying a missle at 3000 knots+. change to TAS if you're not getting these speeds...at these high altitudes, IAS will read a lot slower.

This is the fastest aircraft i have ever flown on fs. The sound is great, the pannel is not workable but it still looks great. I was able to reach up to 430kts and almost 200,000 feet! I was also able to download it very quickly. I would rate it a 20 but this site wont let me rate more than a ten....

The External Graphics and Cockpit Graphics are good but, If you really want to fly the X-15 with moving parts I recommend a different flight simulator: X-Plane. It even has space travel.

Looks and sounds great. Lackluster performance above 40,000 ft. although very responsive at lower altitudes. Would be nice to see some navigation and com. aids for base to base flights. Be sure to turn off your stress settings as this rocket is easy to burst at low altitude!

its tight and it works in FS 04 just fine but you need to have good hardware or lessen the graphics so your computer dosent slow down to much when your flying really fast

If u want extreme supersonic velocities turn off stress damage in the realism and take off, then maintain a 25-30 degree climb rate the VSI will be off the charts but i have gotten into the mach 6 range at around 85k feet

In spite of the fact that the sound be a bit bad, this aircraft is, probably, the best that I have flyed, for which the fly is very interesting. If you look for a very good aircraft, choose it.

This rocket is very fast but hard to control at high speed. Ihave gotten this rocket up above 100,000 ft. it doesnt go as fast as it says it does. i was wondering if it is possible to fly to the moon it this rocket.

Out of over 50 add on aircraft I have in FS2002, this baby is my favorite. No, it's not perfect, (even at idle, the powerful engine will hop the chocks unless you stand on the brakes, and full speed around 3.31 mach requires constant feathering of the throttle to avoid overspeed, in cockpit views are claustrophobic) but since all those faults duplicate real life parameters.... I give it a 10. Just for being cool. And poopoo on giving it a 1 because your hardware is lame..... what, you got a 486? :-) (j/k)

I downloaded this aircraft and it worked great. I have Flight Simulator 2004, and it worked fine. Anybody who has fs 2004 and wants to download it, go ahead. The gagues could use a little work but still a very nice airplane!

Although the plane never reached mach 6.7, I got it up to about mach 3.5. The detail is great, and it has a great cockpit. This plane is worth downloading.

Why can't this be on FS2000 too, if i had a better system i'd get 2002, but i don't, so i'm stuck with getting the older stuff, and not getting the newer stuff because it's put on 2002. It apears i will be left in the dust as soon as 2004 comes out... :(
